Dimplex · Optimyst RGB Pro Box
An assembled Optimyst® RGB vapor-fireplace system with included cassettes and front glass, optional see-through installation and supplemental heat.
In Stock

Optimyst® RGB Pro Box combines a pre-built electric firebox with the moving, three-dimensional appearance of illuminated water vapor. The CBX1500-AM package includes the RGB cassettes and front glass, giving the installer an assembled system to plan into a permanent fireplace wall.
Use the supplied one-sided arrangement or plan a see-through installation with the exact optional rear-glass panel. The heater exhausts in one direction, so the visible sides, air inlet and warmth should be considered together.
The included tray can take a chosen decorative presentation, with compatible ember beds and glowing log sets sold separately. Compare the base package with the illustrated media before deciding what to add.
The RGB cassette system creates the Optimyst vapor-flame presentation. Adjust flame, color, sound and heat using the system’s documented controls; FlameConnect Phone App adds personalization.
The supplied front glass helps protect the presentation where drafts are a concern. Choose a location away from large air currents and preserve the fresh-air inlet beneath the firebox.

Prepare a 65⅜ × 32⅜-inch framed opening with at least 14¾ inches of installation depth, then plan the underside fresh-air inlet, support and service access into the enclosure.
| Framed opening width | 65⅜ in |
|---|---|
| Framed opening height | 32⅜ in |
| Minimum installation depth | 14¾ in |
| Required underside fresh-air inlet | At least 120 sq in |
| Required framing support | 160 lb |
| Electrical circuit | 120 V / 15 A |
At least 120 square inches of fresh-air inlet must reach the underside. Avoid drafts across the display, keep the heater exhaust clear and preserve the water and electrical service routes.
The manual requires framing capable of supporting 160 pounds. Plan the one- or two-sided arrangement before closing the wall, and preserve access to the tray, tank and receiver.
The supplied assembled arrangement is one-sided. A two-sided installation uses the documented rear-panel change and the exact optional rear-glass relationship; it is not a different nominal-size variant of this package.
These enclosure views show the shape and mounting format behind the finished surround. Choose the rear glazing and complete media presentation as part of the installation plan.

The heater is controlled through the Optimyst cassette using the remote or tethered controller. It cannot run independently of that cassette system; the cassettes are already part of this packaged SKU.
For tank refilling, lift the tray and remove the water tank as described in the operating guide. If continuous water supply is planned, confirm the exact plumbing accessory and project requirements before ordering.
The exact model sheet specifies a 120-volt, 1,490-watt electrical system. Keep the supply, control receiver and water access serviceable after the surround is complete.

Yes. The current CBX1500-AM package includes the firebox, RGB cassettes and front glass; the architectural specification identifies CDFI500-PRO-RGB as part of the system. Do not add another cassette as though the package were an empty enclosure. We do not infer a cassette quantity from the product’s nominal width or wiring illustration.
The exact CBX1500-AM architectural sheet specifies a 65⅜-inch-wide by 32⅜-inch-high opening with a minimum installation depth of 14¾ inches. These differ from the appliance’s overall dimensions. The enclosure must also support 160 pounds and preserve the required underside air inlet, electrical access and the selected one- or two-sided configuration.
No. The product does not need combustion exhaust venting, but the installation manual requires at least 120 square inches of fresh-air inlet area reaching the underside of the Pro Box. Blocking the air path affects the vapor flame and appliance operation. Plan that opening into the finished enclosure rather than treating it as an optional detail.
The unit is supplied assembled in its one-sided arrangement. The manual describes removing the rear panel for a two-sided installation, and the current price list identifies GBF1500-GLASS as the optional rear glass. The heater exhausts in one direction, which must be considered when positioning the firebox. Confirm the exact rear-glass accessory and installation before ordering a conversion.
The operating guide describes lifting the tray to remove and refill the water tank. A continuous water supply is also supported with an accessory plumbing arrangement; the architectural sheet names CDFIPLUMB-KIT. Plan the water supply, access and exact kit requirements together. Do not assume a plumbing kit or a particular number of kits is included with the base package.
The Pro Box heater cannot operate independently of the Optimyst cassette. It is controlled through the cassette’s remote or tethered controller. The packaged CBX1500-AM already includes the RGB cassette system, so the dependency is a system-design point rather than a reason to buy another cassette as missing equipment.
Choose a location away from drafts, strong vents, ceiling fans and other large air currents. The manual compares the vapor flame’s sensitivity to that of a candle. The supplied front glass is useful where drafts are a concern, and a see-through installation needs the appropriate rear-glass arrangement as well as the required air supply.
The manufacturer describes the included tray as a place for a chosen ember bed or glowing log set sold separately. Some photographs illustrate a finished decorative presentation rather than the base contents. Confirm the exact media relationship and quantity before adding a log or ember package; neither nominal width nor a similar-looking legacy enclosure proves compatibility.
The exact model sheet specifies 120 volts, 1,490 watts and 12.4 amps; the installation manual calls for a 120-volt, 15-amp circuit. The appliance arrives ready for a hardwired permanent installation. CDFI-PLUGKIT is listed as an optional connection accessory for this system. Have the installer confirm the arrangement; a stray 240-volt diagram is not a supported alternate supply for this model.
Keep the tray, tank, receiver and serviceable parts accessible after the wall is finished. Follow the cassette’s water-quality and maintenance instructions, and use filtered or decalcified water for the refill process described in the Pro Box guide. The Pro Box manual provides 24 months of limited heater-component coverage with eligible on-site or in-home service; review the linked documents for component scope, access and service conditions.

Optimyst RGB Pro Box 60-inch family
OUR PRODUCT ASSESSMENT
The RGB Pro Box is for a project where the fireplace itself is a major architectural feature. Water vapor gives the illuminated effect physical movement, and the assembled enclosure brings the cassette system into a defined firebox. We like the opportunity for a one-sided or see-through arrangement, but this is a planned installation with water, air and service needs. We would choose it for the visual experience and build the maintenance access into the design from the start.
The firebox arrives with its cassette arrangement and front glass, which gives a custom installation a clearer starting point than loose flame modules. It still requires a properly designed enclosure, but there are fewer separate structural choices to coordinate.
A see-through arrangement can connect adjacent spaces visually when the specified rear glass is added. The RGB flame system expands the mood beyond a single flame color. That flexibility is useful only when the fireplace is positioned where both the sightlines and the access requirements work.
The installation needs the specified intake area and structural support, not simply a hole that matches the front glass. Leave a practical route to reach the water system and components after the surround is finished. A beautiful permanent enclosure should not make routine care difficult.
A two-sided visual installation does not mean equal heater output into both rooms. Plan supplementary heating accordingly. The newer RGB cassette is also not a drop-in replacement for every older Pro enclosure, so confirm exact part compatibility rather than relying on the Optimyst name.
This makes sense when the moving vapor effect and architectural presentation are worth the added installation and maintenance. Budget for the complete enclosure, electrical and water arrangements, optional rear glass if wanted, and future access. A simpler LED fireplace may be the better purchase if the priority is low-effort daily operation rather than the distinctive three-dimensional effect.
The family assessment pools sizes, fuel types, generations and colors. Equipment differs by configuration. The HOP score is a price-independent research assessment. Owner themes summarize the accessible sample.
