Know what matters

Choose your fuel. Shape your cooking.

The right grill suits your routine as well as your space. Start with the fuel you want to use, then compare the features of individual models.

Everyday flexibility

Gas grills

For cooks who value convenient ignition and adjustable heat. Look at burner layout, usable cooking area and the features you will use regularly, rather than choosing on burner count alone.

Propane or natural gas? Propane uses a tank; natural gas requires an appropriate supply connection. Choose the correct fuel configuration for your installation. Do not assume a model can be converted.

A hands-on ritual

Charcoal grills

For a more hands-on cooking ritual. Fuel arrangement and airflow are part of controlling the heat, with time set aside for lighting and tending the fire.

Consider the format. Compare kettle, cart and built-in options where available. Think about access to the charcoal, ash cleanup and room to arrange different heat zones.

An alternative fuel

Electric grills

An alternative that uses electricity rather than a gas supply or charcoal. Our assortment includes tabletop and built-in formats, each with its own installation requirements.

Check the power first. Verify voltage, circuit and outlet requirements in the exact model’s manual. Electric does not automatically mean permitted on every balcony or in every building.

01 · Capacity

Cooking space, clearly measured

Compare the main cooking surface separately from warming racks and total cooking area. Consider the meals you cook together, and whether you want room for direct and indirect heat at the same time.

02 · Cooking

Features with a purpose

A rotisserie, dedicated searing burner or side burner can broaden your menu. Confirm what is included in the chosen configuration, what is optional and whether you will use it often enough to earn the space.

03 · Installation

The fit beyond the grill width

The advertised grill width is not an installation cutout. Compare the manufacturer’s specified dimensions, hood-opening space and clearances, along with fuel and electrical requirements.

Questions before you choose

A few useful answers.

Practical starting points for choosing a grill and planning an outdoor kitchen.

Should I choose a built-in or freestanding grill?

A built-in grill becomes part of a permanent outdoor kitchen and needs a compatible enclosure. A freestanding grill includes its own cart and offers more flexibility in placement. Choose based on how permanent your plan is, then check the exact model’s installation and clearance requirements.

Is propane or natural gas better for my outdoor kitchen?

The best starting point is the supply available at your property. Propane requires a tank; natural gas requires a suitable connection. Both are offered across parts of our gas-grill assortment. Confirm the exact fuel configuration and installation requirements before ordering.

What size grill should I buy?

Think about what you cook at the same time, rather than relying only on an advertised width or a guest count. Compare main cooking area, space for different heat zones and your available installation area. Warming-rack area and total cooking area may describe different things.

Where can I find dimensions and installation documents?

Start on the selected product page and look for its documents and specifications. Verify the model number and chosen configuration against the manufacturer’s manual. For a built-in installation, finalize the grill selection before committing to the cutout or cabinetry.

Can I plan more than the grill?

Yes. Bring your outdoor kitchen selections together in Projects, including the products you need for preparation, cooking, storage and serving. The planning checklist above can help you gather the installation details to discuss with your contractor.
