Keep Your Grill Ready for the Next Cook

Start with your grill, not a generic cleaning schedule

Find the model number on your grill and keep a copy of its owner’s manual. Grates, burners, grease trays and finishes can need different care, even within the same brand. Follow your model’s instructions for when the grill should be warm, cool, switched off or disconnected before a task.

Keep your model details in your outdoor equipment record. Add your cover model and service contact so they are easy to find later.

Build a simple routine around each cook

Keep tools and cleaners suitable for your particular surfaces. If a cleaning brush is recommended, check for loose bristles before the next cook. Never apply liquid cleaner to a hot surface unless your manufacturer expressly instructs you to do so.

Give your cover the right job

Fit the correct cover only after the grill has cooled and dried as directed. Check the fastenings and fabric before leaving the grill unused for a while. A cover protects the exterior between uses; it does not replace cleaning, inspection or the storage steps in your manual.

Know when to book a service visit

If you notice a change in operation, damage or something you cannot identify, follow your manual’s instructions about stopping use and contact a qualified service professional. Tell them the model number, what changed and when you first noticed it. Photos can help them understand the issue before a visit.
