Your Outdoor Equipment Record: Models, Manuals and Service
Save your model details while they are easy to reach
Record the brand, full model, selected configuration and serial number from the actual appliance. Keep a photograph of the rating label in your own project files. An order title may name a product family rather than the precise unit installed.
Use the worksheet below to keep the essentials together, then download a Hearth Outpost PDF for your own files. Your notes stay on this device.
Keep four kinds of information together
| Record | Examples |
|---|---|
| Product identity | Model, fuel configuration, hinge direction, finish |
| Purchase and installation | Order reference, installer, completion date in your private records |
| Applicable documents | Manual title, revision, specification diagram and warranty |
| Ownership history | Service dates, approved replacement parts and completed care |
Record changes without losing history
When a part is replaced, note the part number, date and service provider. When an appliance is replaced, create a new entry instead of overwriting the old model. A cover or accessory matched to the previous appliance may not fit its replacement.
Use the cover-fit guide before ordering protection. For a kitchen alteration, bring the current record into the installation checklist so the builder starts from the installed equipment rather than an old concept plan.
Prepare a useful service request
Describe the symptom, when it began and any recent changes in use or installation. Include the model and relevant photographs through the service provider’s normal channel. Follow the manual’s instructions if the appliance should be taken out of use. Contact a qualified service professional for repairs.
Review at the season change
Check that document links still point to the right model and that completed work has been recorded. Add upcoming tasks from the seasonal shutdown guide. Download a copy of your notes before changing browsers or clearing local storage, since those actions can remove the saved worksheet.
