Dimplex Ignite Ultra 60-Inch Linear Electric Fireplace
Flex-Flame lets you choose Dynamic-Fire or Multi-Fire® flame effects, with glowing logs, crackling sound and front, corner or bay-style installation from one fireplace.
This fireplace uses 2 retail packs of river rocks. Choose these to change the decorative appearance; the standard logs, tumbled glass, gravel and glass chunks are already included. Follow the installation guide’s media-placement instructions.
This fireplace uses 2 retail packs of black rocks. Choose these to change the decorative appearance; the standard logs, tumbled glass, gravel and glass chunks are already included. Follow the installation guide’s media-placement instructions.

Ignite Ultra 60 puts a deeper fire presentation at the center of the room, with illuminated logs that pulse alongside the flames and ember bed. The included 9-piece log set, tumbled glass, gravel and glass chunks create layers of texture behind the glass.
Flex-Flame gives the installation a choice of two flame effects: retain the installed Dynamic-Fire rod or use the included Multi-Fire® rod. From there, adjust flame appearances, speed, brightness and crackling sound to suit the evening.
The same firebox can be presented front-facing, open at either corner, or with both sides visible in a bay-style installation. Choose the view with the room’s layout in mind before the surround is built.
Make the evening your own
One fireplace. More ways to set the mood.
Move between six flame appearances, Midnight and Dusk, or the Custom setting saved through FlameConnect Phone App. Midnight gives the flames the stage with logs and embers off; Dusk makes the illuminated media the focus with the flames off.
Inner-glow logs pulse with the fire presentation. Adjust flame speed, brighten or dim the flames, logs, ember bed and overhead lights, and add crackling sound at the volume that suits the space. Three natural sound options are described in the product catalog, with more available through the app.
The details make the fire
A different way to bring fire home.
Front-facing, left-corner, right-corner and bay-style installations use the same appliance. Open-sided and linked arrangements have their own side-panel and finishing steps, so the installation plan should be agreed before the wall is finished.

The ULT60 framed opening is 60¾ inches wide by 28 inches high by 15 inches deep. The manual also identifies additional open-side framing details for corner and bay-style installations.

The fireplace is not load-bearing. Plan the rear top-right electrical entry, keep the heater inlet and outlet clear, and retain access to the controls under the magnetic sill trim. Two or more people are required for installation.
Planning a wider installation?
For a linked arrangement, the manual instructs the installer to add the widths of the fireplaces and use the supplied linking brackets. Plan the complete run, electrical supply and intended controls together before building the surround.
Settle in. Stay comfortable.
Warmth when you want it. Control within reach.
Comfort$aver™ adjusts fan speed and heater wattage around the thermostat setting. Choose Fan Only, Eco at 64°F, one of five heat levels from 64–78°F, or a 20-minute Heat Boost that returns to level five. The heat can be disabled while the flame display remains available.
Use the onboard controls, the supplied Bluetooth remote or FlameConnect Phone App. The app adds saved mood settings, a custom heat schedule and a display of the set temperature. The sleep timer runs from one to eight hours.
The remote’s magnetic wall mount provides a place to keep it within reach. Previously used settings are retained after a power interruption, and a synchronized remote can control multiple fireplaces.

How do I choose between Dynamic-Fire and Multi-Fire?
Dynamic-Fire uses the factory-installed flicker rod. The included optional rod changes the physical flame effect to Multi-Fire®. Choose the effect as part of the installation and follow the instructions supplied with that rod. This component choice is separate from the lighting themes, flame-speed and brightness adjustments available through the controls.
Do I need a different fireplace model for a corner or bay installation?
The same Ignite Ultra firebox supports front-facing, left-corner, right-corner and bay-style installations. Side panels are removed for the sides that will be open, and the supplied side glass and finishing components are installed according to the chosen arrangement. Decide which sides will be visible before framing and finishing the surround.
What opening should I prepare for this size?
ULT60 uses a 60¾-inch-wide by 28-inch-high by 15-inch-deep framed opening in the installation manual. The opening is not the same as the finished product dimensions. The fireplace is not load-bearing, wiring enters at the top right at the rear, and two or more people are required to position the unit. Have the installer use the diagram for the intended open-sided or front-facing arrangement.
Are the illuminated logs supplied, or are they a separate upgrade?
ULT60 includes 9 inner-glow logs, together with tumbled glass embers, gravel and glass chunks. The logs connect to the fireplace’s labeled connectors and the large glass pieces conceal those connections. Use the model’s recommended layout in the manual when arranging the supplied set; an alternative decorative-media offer is not a missing required component.
What is the difference between Midnight and Dusk modes?
Midnight keeps the flames on while switching the ember bed and logs off. Dusk switches the flames off while keeping the embers and logs on. Six additional themes provide different flame appearances, and the Custom setting is configured in the FlameConnect Phone App. These lighting choices let the fireplace take a different role in the room without changing the surround.
Can I use the fireplace without connecting the app?
The onboard controls and supplied multifunction Bluetooth remote operate the fireplace. The remote includes a magnetic wall mount, and one remote can be synchronized to multiple units. FlameConnect Phone App adds personalized mood settings and custom scheduling. If you want app control, place the fireplace within Wi-Fi range and follow the pairing instructions in the manual.
Should I choose a plug-in or hardwired electrical connection?
The supplied plug kit is for 120-volt operation, rated at 1,500 watts. A hardwired 240-volt installation provides 2,500 watts. A dedicated, properly protected 15-amp circuit is recommended, with wiring selected for the chosen voltage and local requirements. Resolve the connection and cable route with the installer before the wall is finished.
Why might the fan continue after the heat is switched off?
The Ignite Ultra manual specifies a 20-minute cool-down period after the heat is switched off because the element retains heat. This is different from the run-on period of some other Dimplex families. Comfort$aver™ also adjusts the fan and heater around the thermostat setting, so gentle circulation can be part of normal operation. Keep the inlet and outlet clear.
Can I put Ignite Ultra outdoors or in a bathroom?
Ignite Ultra is an indoor appliance; its manual prohibits outdoor use. A bathroom installation requires GFCI protection and placement that prevents water entering the unit. It is not watertight and must be kept away from showers, tubs and locations where it could fall into water. The bathroom image illustrates a setting, not permission for an exposed or wet installation.
Can I put a television or mantel above the fireplace?
Follow the temperature-sensitive item manufacturer’s requirements as well as the fireplace installation guide. With normal heat and a correctly installed, unobstructed fireplace, the manual notes that surfaces 10 inches above the fireplace will not exceed 104°F. That statement does not replace a television’s own allowable-temperature or mounting requirements. Keep at least 24 inches between the fireplace top and ceiling.

OUR PRODUCT ASSESSMENT
Hearth Outpost Score
8.4/10
Ultra is aimed at someone who wants an electric fireplace to be a convincing, adjustable centerpiece rather than a background glow. We like the depth of the display, illuminated logs and range of flame and sound settings. The complete package includes important installation pieces, but the deeper body demands real planning. We would choose it after checking the effect from the room's main viewpoints and confirming the wall can accommodate it. Its visual ambition is clear; years of dependable ownership are still something time will establish.

What stands out
A more layered display
Physical logs and lighting work with the flame system to create depth within the opening. That can be more satisfying than adding a larger but shallow display, particularly when the fireplace is intended to anchor the whole room.
Fine-tune everyday use
Adjustable scenes, lighting and sound let you move from a more active fire to a quieter evening presentation. The included media, remote and plug kit help define the standard package. Check the actual supplied contents before adding optional pieces or duplicating controls.
What to weigh before buying
Allow for its depth
Ultra is not a simple substitute for a shallow 2-by-6-wall installation. The published body and framing depth are much greater, so review the exact model drawing before committing to cabinetry or a media wall. Service access and glass handling also deserve space in the plan.
Complexity has a cost
More lighting and connected features bring more choices and components. We would prioritize the core flame appearance and a practical installation over features you may rarely use. The heater remains supplementary, and a sophisticated display should not be mistaken for proven long-term reliability.
Value Consideration
Ultra is worth considering when the fireplace is a major visual investment and the deeper installation suits the project. Compare its effect directly with Bold and Evolve, along with the full framing and finishing cost. The premium is harder to justify if the room only needs a modest background fire or the extra depth creates substantial building work.
