The Ignite Evolve® 50 puts a long, low ribbon of flame at the heart of your room, with a recessed installation that keeps the focus on the fire. Start with a familiar orange glow or move toward blue, neutral tones and illuminated media to suit the evening.
Choose the texture of molded driftwood, acrylic crystals or tumbled glass—all supplied with the fireplace. Then fine-tune the flame speed, brightness and color without changing the installation.
Comfort$aver supplemental heat is there when you want warmth. Switch the heater off when all you want is the atmosphere.
MAKE THE EVENING YOUR OWN
Seven flame themes and five flame speeds let you move from a quiet glow to a livelier fire. Adjust the flame separately from the media lighting, so the fireplace can feel warm and familiar or distinctly contemporary.
Five fixed media colors—white, blue, violet, red and green—sit alongside three animated or dark modes. Prism cycles the media and overhead lights together; Kaleidoscope cycles them at different rates; Midnight turns those lights off to leave the flame in focus.
Choose high or low brightness, add the flicker effect, or let the ambient light sensor adjust brightness as the room changes.

THE DETAILS MAKE THE FIRE

SETTLE IN. STAY COMFORTABLE.

Set your preferred temperature and Comfort$aver adjusts fan speed and heater output as the room approaches that setting. It is supplemental comfort for the space you are enjoying, with 1,500 watts at 120 volts or 2,500 watts when hardwired to 240 volts.
Normal mode maintains your setting; Boost gives you a 20-minute burst before returning to Normal. Eco offers a lower-energy operating mode, and Fan Only circulates air without heat. The thermostat range is 45–86°F.
Use the concealed touch controls at the upper right of the fireplace, the included remote, or the FlameConnect Phone App. A sleep timer runs from 30 minutes to eight hours in 30-minute steps, and settings are retained after a power interruption.

MEASURE ONCE. ENJOY FOR YEARS.

The EVO50 framed opening is 50⅝ inches wide by 16 inches high. A 2×6 wall allows a fully recessed installation with a 5½-inch framing depth; a 2×4 wall allows partial recessing at 3½ inches deep. The XLFTRIM50 trim kit is recommended for the partially recessed installation.
| Framed opening width | 50⅝ in |
|---|---|
| Framed opening height | 16 in |
| Flush framing depth / 2×6 | 5½ in |
| Partial-recess depth / 2×4 | 3½ in |
| Minimum above floor | 5 in |
| Minimum to ceiling | 24 in |
Keep the opening free of structural load. Decorative materials must not overhang the fireplace by more than ½ inch, so airflow remains clear. Two people are required to handle the installation. Wiring enters at the lower right of the fireplace.
Check the manual’s temperature-zone diagram and your television manufacturer’s requirements before fixing the height or building a mantel. A television’s placement needs its own clearance and temperature review.
TAKE THE GATHERING OUTSIDE

Ignite Evolve is certified for outdoor installation, opening up another place to gather around the flame. It still needs a sheltered installation: an overhang must protect the fireplace from direct water entering the unit.
The manual’s shelter rule limits the height from the bottom of the fireplace to the underside of the overhang to three times the overhang’s projection. For example, a nine-foot height requires at least a three-foot projection, with protection at the sides as shown in the manual.
Plan the electrical protection with your installer and local requirements. Outdoor use carries a one-year limited warranty; indoor use carries five years.

GOOD QUESTIONS. USEFUL ANSWERS.
The EVO50 supports a partial recess in 2×4 framing at a 3½-inch framing depth. Fully recessed installation uses 2×6 framing at 5½ inches deep. Both use a 50⅝-by-16-inch framed opening. The XLFTRIM50 kit is recommended for partial recessing; plan the finished wall and airflow limits with your installer before closing the wall.
At 120 volts the heater is rated at 1,500 watts; at 240 volts it is rated at 2,500 watts. The higher-voltage installation increases available heater output rather than changing the flame effect. Have your installer check the circuit and wiring requirements in the manual. The included power cord is listed in the box contents; a 240-volt installation is hardwired.
Yes. Flame and heat can operate independently, so you can keep the visual effect on with the heater off. You can also use Fan Only mode when you want air circulation without heater output. A short fan cooldown after switching heat off is normal.
Prism cycles the media and overhead lights through colors together. Kaleidoscope cycles them at different rates for more variation. Midnight switches those lights off, keeping attention on the flame. Five fixed media colors are also available, and a color can be held during the cycling modes.
Plan it as supplemental heat. Comfort$aver adjusts fan speed and output around your thermostat setting, but actual room comfort depends on insulation, ceiling height, layout, outdoor conditions and the selected electrical connection. Use those project details when deciding whether the available heater output suits your room.
Outdoor certification does not mean exposed installation. The fireplace needs an overhang that protects against direct water entering the unit, following the height-to-projection rule and side protection in the manual. If your patio cannot provide that shelter, resolve the location before ordering.
That needs a project-specific check. Use the fireplace manual’s temperature zones and clearances together with the television manufacturer’s requirements. Do not use the fireplace’s minimum ceiling clearance as a television clearance or assume a decorative mantel makes every arrangement suitable.
The fireplace retains its settings after a power interruption. A factory reset is different: it disconnects the fireplace from Wi-Fi, so the FlameConnect Phone App connection must be set up again. Keep the remote guide and owner’s manual with your installation records.
The heater uses a cooldown period. The fan can continue for about two minutes after heat is turned off to release remaining heat. That is different from an error code on the display; if a code appears, use the manual’s troubleshooting guidance and give the code to support.
Indoor installation has five years of limited coverage; outdoor installation has one year. Eligible warranty claims can receive on-site or in-home service, with covered repair labor and transport subject to the written terms. Original-purchaser, service-area and installation/access conditions apply; the full warranty is in the owner’s manual.

EXTERNAL CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
OUR PRODUCT ASSESSMENT
Evolve is a useful middle ground for someone who wants a contemporary linear fireplace with more control over the mood, without moving to a deep multi-sided installation. We like the included driftwood, glass media and remote, plus adjustable flame speed and app control. Owners often enjoy its appearance and installation, although experiences with heating and finish quality vary. Inspect the unit before the wall is completed, and buy it for the visual experience and supplementary comfort rather than an expectation that it will replace the room's heating.
Owners praise attractive flames, easy installation and the atmosphere the fireplace brings to a room. Heating feedback is mixed: one installation in a study exceeded expectations, while another owner wanted more warmth. Comments also mention a visible indicator light, finish damage and a color-function fault. We would check those practical details alongside the look before completing the surround.
The included driftwood, acrylic crystals and tumbled glass give you a finished starting point without immediately buying a decorative-media upgrade. It is worth arranging the supplied pieces as instructed and viewing them from your usual seat before deciding you need something else.
Multiple flame speeds and Flame Connect settings let you tailor the effect to a quiet evening or a brighter room. A compatible same-size trim can support the specified partial-recess installation, giving the project another route when the wall depth is limited.
An owner describes a bent bracket and finish blemishes, while another reports color-function problems. Check operation and condition before permanent finishing makes access more difficult. Keep the exact model's dimensions and installation instructions with the installer.
Heating impressions differ between owners, and one dislikes a visible green light. Those details can matter more in a quiet, dark room than in a daytime showroom. Consider the fireplace's main job—visual focal point or extra nearby warmth—before selecting its size and location.
Evolve is a sensible upgrade when you will use its adjustable flame presentation and included media. Compare it with the original XL on the finished appearance and complete installation cost, rather than assuming more connected features always mean better value. The five-year limited warranty is useful, but correct installation and accessible servicing still matter.
The 4.1/5 Market Rating is based on 8 eligible customer ratings reviewed by Hearth Outpost. The star breakdown distribution shows how those customers rated the product. These are aggregated customer reviews across the market and not random sampling.
The family assessment pools sizes, fuel types, generations and colors. Equipment differs by configuration. The HOP score is a price-independent research assessment. Owner themes summarize the accessible sample.
