RLG20 gives a suitable existing fireplace a new electric focal point without installing a complete decorative firebox. The log appliance sits in the opening, with the Mirage™ Flame Panel behind the logs and the optional ember mat beneath and in front of the grate.
The effect is designed to let you see through the flames toward the back of the fireplace. The room’s existing opening remains part of what you see, making the fit and viewing position as important as the appliance’s nominal width.
THE ILLUSION IS IN THE LAYERS

Layered Realogs® bring depth and an internal LED glow to the grate. The partially frosted Mirage Flame Panel carries the flame illusion without the room-reflecting appearance of a conventional mirror.
Adjust the log brightness through four settings and use the surrounding light options to suit the room. The manual describes natural-yellow and blue flame-base choices, with additional side and rear lighting when the flame effect is on.
COMFORT WITHOUT CHANGING THE CHARACTER

A compact heater is incorporated into the log appliance. Low and high heat settings give you supplemental warmth, while flame-only operation keeps the display useful when the room does not need heat.
The appliance plugs directly into a wall outlet on a 15-amp, 120-volt circuit. Keep air circulation beneath it, assess the opening for dampness and chimney debris, and follow the manual’s placement guidance before enjoying the display.
KEEP THE VIEW CLEAR

Dust the logs, grate, mat and base as needed, and inspect the appliance at least yearly. Dust and dirt buildup can trap heat, so cleaning is part of ownership rather than just a cosmetic step.
Use a damp cloth for marks on the Mirage Flame Panel and dry it fully with a lint-free cloth. Abrasive cleaners can damage the panel. Disconnect power and let the heater cool before cleaning.
MEASURE ONCE. ENJOY FOR YEARS.

For optimal viewing, the RLG20 guide recommends an opening at least 24 inches wide, 22 inches high and 14 inches deep. Those are recommended opening dimensions, not the dimensions of a built-in firebox or a construction cutout.
| Recommended minimum width | 24 in |
|---|---|
| Recommended minimum height | 22 in |
| Recommended minimum depth | 14 in |
| Electrical supply | 120 V · 60 Hz · 12.5 A · 1,500 W |
| Circuit | 15 A; dedicated preferred |
| Placement condition | Dry opening; airflow beneath unit |
Do not use an opening prone to dampness. The manual calls for sealing drafts and vents with non-fibrous insulation to prevent chimney debris falling onto the appliance.
Lift using the sides of the heater box—not the fragile logs or the front grate legs. On carpet, the manual requires a solid, one-piece flat support beneath both grate feet.

GOOD QUESTIONS. USEFUL ANSWERS.
RLG20 sits in a suitable opening and uses the existing fireplace’s surroundings as part of the view. It is not a complete firebox with its own interior walls. Measure the opening and check its condition, outlet and airflow rather than using built-in firebox framing dimensions.
The manual recommends at least 24 inches of width, 22 inches of height and 14 inches of depth for optimal viewing. Check the panel position and sightline as well as the floor space. These recommended opening measurements are distinct from overall appliance dimensions.
The Mirage Flame Panel is partially frosted acrylic designed to show the flame effect without mirror reflections. Its orientation and positioning matter: the manual places the painted side at the back and the smooth side toward the front. Follow the illustrated assembly procedure.
REM-KIT is an optional, separately purchased ember mat for RLG20. Unlike RLG25, this model does not include the mat. Choose one kit if you want that presentation and follow the RLG20 installation instructions for its position and connection.
Yes. Flame and heat can operate separately, with low and high heat settings available. The manual also supports heat with the flame effect off; the log LEDs remain on when the heater operates in that arrangement.
The fan continues for about 60 seconds after the heater is switched off. That cooldown is described in the operating guide. It is different from dust buildup or another condition that needs cleaning or service.
No. The manual says not to install it in an existing fireplace opening prone to dampness. Assess the opening before ordering and deal with chimney debris and drafts as directed. An electric flame display does not correct a moisture problem in the fireplace.
The appliance requires a 15-amp, 120-volt circuit and plugs directly into a wall outlet. A dedicated circuit is preferred and may be needed if other loads cause regular tripping. Have the electrical supply assessed rather than assuming any nearby outlet is suitable.
Disconnect power and let the heater cool. Dust and vacuum the appliance as needed; use the cleaning methods in the manual. For the Mirage Flame Panel, remove marks with a damp cloth and dry completely using a lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
No. Lift by the sides of the heater box for stability. The internally lit Realogs are fragile, and the front grate legs are not lifting handles. Follow the placement sequence so the ember mat and Mirage Flame Panel can be positioned correctly.

Revillusion Plug-In Log Set family
EXTERNAL CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
OUR PRODUCT ASSESSMENT
These log sets make sense when you like your existing fireplace but would rather skip the wood, ash and lighting routine. The Revillusion effect puts the fire above a physical log arrangement, and owners often find the result convincing in everyday use. We like the relatively modest conversion work compared with replacing the entire firebox. Before choosing a size, check the opening, power access and sightline to the flame panel. Think of the heater as welcome nearby warmth, not a replacement for the room's heating system.
Owners appreciate realistic-looking logs and flames, easy setup and the convenience of enjoying a fire without hauling wood. Some particularly like the effect in the evening. The reflective panel is more apparent to certain owners in daylight, and the heater is often described as supplementary rather than room-transforming. Those are useful expectations for choosing the right location.
A compatible existing opening can retain its surround while gaining a switch-on fire effect. That is particularly attractive when the masonry or mantel is already the room's best feature and you do not want a major rebuilding project.
You can enjoy the illuminated logs and flame effect without running the heater. The larger set's ember-bed treatment can help fill the opening visually; check the exact package because the RLG20 and RLG25 do not include identical ember accessories.
The reflective flame panel can be more noticeable in daylight or from an unfavorable angle. Before committing, consider window positions and the height of the hearth. A good fit means the logs look proportionate to the opening, not merely that the appliance physically fits.
Protect the log assembly and panel during placement, preserve the required heater airflow and use the specified electrical connection. Do not improvise a screen or change the arrangement in a way that obstructs the heater. Verify the exact RLG25FC instructions when selecting that version.
This is a compelling way to regain use of an existing fireplace when the alternative involves extensive gas or masonry work. Much of the value comes from avoiding that work, not from exceptional heating power. Measure first and include any required ember accessory or electrical work so the finished cost remains as straightforward as the product itself.
