Finish the wall precisely
The self-trimming flange is only ¼ inch; it is not a cover for an oversized opening. The manual requires insulation and vapor barrier at the top to stay at least two inches from the firebox.

Dimplex · Revillusion
REV24-BL brings a traditional built-in fireplace profile together with the Revillusion Flame effect, internally illuminated Realogs and a Black interior. The translucent Reflective Flame Panel gives the flame display depth without hiding the firebox behind a conventional mirror.

THE FIREPLACE YOU GATHER AROUND

A traditional fireplace can anchor the room without a gas line or a working chimney. The REV24-BL pairs the proportions of a traditional built-in firebox with a Black interior and a flame display designed to be seen in depth.
Revillusion® places the flame effect among illuminated Realogs® rather than against an opaque screen. The translucent Reflective Flame Panel lets you see into the firebox, bringing the logs, ember bed and backer into one layered view.
SEE THE FLAME IN MOTION
Watch the Black Revillusion presentation, with its layered flame and glowing logs. Compare the moving effect with the still photographs as you picture the firebox in your own room.
LOOK CLOSER AT THE GLOW

Internally lit Realogs create a pulsing glow within the log shapes. Tumbled glass and black gravel add texture beneath them, while enhanced ember-bed lighting carries the effect across the base of the firebox.
The included remote adjusts flame brightness and color, so you can tune the display for a quiet evening or a brighter room. The physical Black backer stays the same; choose a different interior configuration before ordering if you want a different finish.
COMFORT ON YOUR TERMS

The fan-forced heater provides supplemental warmth from a 120-volt supply. The REV24 installation guide rates the appliance at 1,350 watts at 25°C and 1,500 watts at 0°C. Resolve the outlet and connection before finishing the wall.
No special fireplace venting is required. Keep the specified framing, clearances and service access, and use the REV24 instructions rather than the electrical ratings for larger Revillusion fireboxes.
MEASURE ONCE. ENJOY FOR YEARS.

For REV24, the installation guide specifies a 24⅝-inch-wide by 22⅜-inch-high framing opening with 12½ inches of depth. Framing measurements are separate from overall appliance dimensions.
| Framing width | 24⅝ in |
|---|---|
| Framing height | 22⅜ in |
| Framing depth | 12½ in |
| Electrical supply | 120 V |
| Power rating | 1,350 W at 25°C / 1,500 W at 0°C |
The self-trimming flange is only ¼ inch; it is not a cover for an oversized opening. The manual requires insulation and vapor barrier at the top to stay at least two inches from the firebox.
REV24-BL uses its own framing dimensions. Landscape and portrait designs can require different heights; a shared nominal width does not establish an interchangeable opening.

YOUR SELECTED CONFIGURATION
GOOD QUESTIONS. USEFUL ANSWERS.
The Revillusion Flame effect works with internally illuminated Realogs and a translucent Reflective Flame Panel. You can see into the firebox through the flame display instead of looking at an opaque screen. The Black backer and lit ember bed contribute to the complete view.
For REV24, use the installation guide’s framing dimensions: 24⅝ inches wide, 22⅜ inches high and 12½ inches deep. Keep those separate from overall appliance dimensions. The small self-trimming flange does not compensate for an opening cut too large.
No. Black is the physical interior backer supplied with REV24-BL. Remote adjustments change the lighting and flame display; they do not change the interior finish. Black, Herringbone and Weathered Concrete are separate ordering configurations.
Use the REV24 installation guide: 24⅝ inches wide by 22⅜ inches high and 12½ inches deep. Landscape and portrait configurations can have different opening heights, so do not substitute another model using nominal width alone.
No. REV24 is a 120-volt configuration. Use its own manual and electrical rating rather than applying the 120/208/240-volt choices of larger Revillusion fireboxes. Resolve the outlet and connection before finishing the installation.
No special fireplace venting or gas connection is required for this electric firebox. The installation still has framing, clearance and electrical requirements. If you are reusing an opening, measure it and assess its condition rather than assuming that a former wood or gas fireplace is automatically suitable.
The manual requires insulation and vapor barrier above the unit to be at least two inches away. Its zero-clearance description has that specific exception. Give the installer the complete placement instructions before insulation and wall finishing begin.
REV24 includes a remote and a factory-attached power cord, with a hardwire bracket/cover documented in the package. Resolve the intended 120-volt connection before ordering replacement equipment; do not add another cord as a missing supplied component.
Use the included remote to adjust supported flame brightness and color. Those changes let you adapt the display to the room and evening. The log arrangement, glass and physical backer remain part of the installed firebox, so choose the finish you want before installation.
The first year provides eligible repair or replacement, including in-home service under the written terms. The second year provides covered replacement parts without in-home service. Original-purchaser, geographic, access and other conditions apply; the complete warranty is linked below.

EXTERNAL CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
OUR PRODUCT ASSESSMENT
Revillusion is the range we would look at when the goal is a convincing traditional fireplace opening rather than a narrow ribbon of colored light. The physical logs and background choices give the room a more familiar hearth character. We like the depth of the presentation, but the opening's proportions and viewing angle still matter. Check the exact model's electrical setup and included equipment before ordering; the smaller REV24 and the larger fireboxes are not interchangeable installation plans.
Owners who like Revillusion often point to realistic flames, attractive appearance and straightforward installation. Other feedback is less enthusiastic about flame size, log proportions or operating noise. One installation account highlights the space needed behind the unit for the plug. Together, those experiences make viewing angle, framing depth and checking the supplied accessories especially useful before purchase.
The range includes conventional and portrait proportions, with different interior finishes. That makes it easier to match an existing mantel or build a traditional feature without forcing a wide linear opening into the room.
The log arrangement and flame presentation are intended to look like a fire within a firebox. Owners who enjoy the result often emphasize the realism. Choose the background and opening height together; those decisions affect the finished impression more than simply choosing the widest available unit.
REV24 uses a different electrical arrangement from the larger current REV models. Legacy RBF versions also need their own documentation. Confirm the glass, trim, remote and plug kit included with the exact unit before buying extras; otherwise it is easy to order something already supplied.
Not every owner likes the flame-to-log proportions, and some mention noise or a more modest flame than expected. Check the view from the sofa and allow space for the cord or wiring route instead of fitting the rear of the unit tightly against an obstruction.
We would prioritize Revillusion when a traditional hearth appearance is central to the project. It can justify spending more than a basic insert if the deeper visual impression is what you want to see every day. Compare the complete installed package and exact warranty coverage, including the distinction between in-home service and parts coverage in later periods.
The 4.8/5 Market Rating is based on 24 eligible customer ratings reviewed by Hearth Outpost. The star breakdown distribution shows how those customers rated the product. These are aggregated customer reviews across the market and not random sampling.
The family assessment pools sizes, fuel types, generations and colors. Equipment differs by configuration. The HOP score is a price-independent research assessment. Owner themes summarize the accessible sample.
