Gather around a different kind of fire

A little more atmosphere. A lot more you.

QST36 installed in an indoor fireplace setting

Ignite® Quest 36 brings the proportions of a taller firebox together with Multi-Fire® flames and a glowing loose-log presentation. The supplied 10-piece log set sits with tumbled glass, gravel and larger glass chunks for a layered ember-bed finish.

The pulsating ember bed and three natural crackling sound options add movement and sound to the display. Flames, logs, embers and overhead lights can take different roles through the theme and brightness controls.

Comfort$aver™ supplies heat when it is wanted, while the flame can be enjoyed with the heater off. The included Bluetooth remote, onboard controls and FlameConnect Phone App provide different ways to operate the fireplace.

Make the evening your own

One fireplace. More ways to set the mood.

Six flame appearances sit alongside Midnight, Dusk and a Custom setting. Midnight keeps the flame with logs and embers off; Dusk keeps the illuminated logs and embers with the flame off. Custom mood settings are configured in FlameConnect Phone App.

Adjust flame speed, brightness and overhead lights independently, then choose whether to add crackling sound and at what volume. The controls also support a one-to-eight-hour timer and retention of previously used settings.

Make room for the finishing details

The fireplace must not carry structural load from the surrounding wall. Two or more people are required to position it. Preserve the required air paths and use the supplied mounting and glazing retainers described in the Quest guide.

Planning a television above?

Review the overhanging item’s own temperature and mounting requirements as well as the fireplace guide. The 24-inch ceiling clearance and the manual’s normal-heat temperature statement are not substitutes for those requirements.

Settle in. Stay comfortable.

Warmth when you want it. Control within reach.

Ignite Quest Bluetooth remote on its wall mount

Comfort$aver™ adjusts fan speed and heater wattage around the thermostat setting. Fan Only, Eco, five heat levels and a 20-minute Heat Boost let you manage supplemental comfort, and the heat can be disabled while the flame remains available.

The included plug kit supports the documented 120-volt installation at 1,500 watts. Hardwired 240-volt operation provides 2,500 watts. Have the installer select the supply and circuit protection before the surround is closed.

Use the onboard controls or the supplied Bluetooth remote for everyday operation. FlameConnect Phone App adds personalized mood settings and a custom heat schedule. The remote’s magnetic wall mount gives it a place to stay within reach.

Good questions. Useful answers.

Let’s get your project right.

Does “hybrid” mean this fireplace needs a gas line?

No. Ignite Quest is an electric fireplace supplied at 120 or 240 volts. The hybrid description refers to its combination of a traditional firebox shape and a modern linear presentation. It does not describe a gas-and-electric fuel system. Plan the electrical connection and framed opening using the Quest guide.

What framed opening does this size require?

QST36 requires a 36¾-inch-wide by 37⅛-inch-high by 18-inch-deep framed opening. The front-glass and overall dimensions are different from that opening. The fireplace is not load-bearing, the supply enters at the top right at the rear, and two or more people are required to position it. Use the exact model row rather than the nominal size alone.

Can I use the supplied plug kit with a 240-volt connection?

The supplied power-cord option is for 120-volt installation. A 240-volt installation is hardwired. The heater is rated at 1,500 watts at 120 volts and 2,500 watts at 240 volts. Choose the supply and connection with the installer before framing is closed; a plug kit is not an adapter for an unchanged 240-volt connection.

How do Midnight, Dusk and Custom differ?

Midnight keeps the flames on while the logs and embers are off. Dusk switches the flames off while leaving the logs and embers on. Six further themes offer different flame appearances, and Custom is configured in FlameConnect Phone App. These modes let the display change character without replacing the supplied media.

Can I use the fireplace without Wi-Fi?

The onboard controls and supplied multifunction Bluetooth remote operate the fireplace. FlameConnect Phone App adds saved custom mood settings and other personalization. If app use is part of the plan, locate the fireplace within Wi-Fi range. The remote also comes with a magnetic wall mount, and one remote can be synchronized to multiple fireplaces.

What is the difference between Eco and Heat Boost?

Eco uses a 64°F setting with low fan speed. The five normal heat levels run from 64°F to 78°F. Heat Boost runs at maximum heat for 20 minutes before returning to level five, and Fan Only circulates air without heat. Custom heat scheduling is configured in FlameConnect Phone App; the set temperature is displayed in the app.

Can the flames run on a warm day without the heater?

Yes. Heat can be switched off or disabled while the other display controls remain available. Flame speed, brightness, overhead lighting and flame sound have their own adjustments. The sleep timer runs from one to eight hours. Previously used settings are retained after a power interruption.

What should I consider before putting a television or mantel above it?

Follow the television, mantel or artwork manufacturer’s requirements alongside the Quest guide. Its temperature statement applies to normal heat, correct installation and unobstructed air paths; it does not replace the overhanging item’s own limits. Keep at least 24 inches between the fireplace top and ceiling and plan the completed surround before fixing heights.

Can I install Quest in a bathroom?

A bathroom installation requires GFCI protection and placement that prevents water entering the unit. Any receptacle must remain accessible. The appliance is not watertight and must be positioned away from showers, tubs and places where it could fall into water. Have the proposed room, mounting and electrical protection reviewed against the guide.

Why does the fan continue after heat is turned off?

The Quest manual specifies a 20-minute cool-down period after heating is switched off because the element retains heat. Comfort$aver™ also adjusts fan and heater operation around the thermostat setting. Keep the inlet and outlet clear, and use authorized support for repeated faults rather than repeatedly resetting the heater.

OUR PRODUCT ASSESSMENT

Hearth Outpost Score

8.3/10

Quest is a strong candidate when you want a taller fireplace presentation with more depth and control than a basic insert. We like the illuminated log arrangement, adjustable flame scenes and the ability to tailor the effect through Flame Connect. It can serve a room that needs a fireplace-shaped focal point rather than a very wide linear strip. Before ordering, settle the viewing configuration, electrical connection and service access. The supplied equipment is substantial, so check the package before adding accessories you may not need.

What stands out

A richer evening display

Separate control of flames, logs and ember lighting gives you several ways to use the fireplace. The documented dusk and midnight modes are useful examples: sometimes the room benefits from a quieter glow rather than the full effect. Sound can be adjusted or switched off.

Flexible room presentation

The deeper firebox and specified glass arrangements provide a more layered view than a shallow wall panel. The included logs, remote and plug kit create a useful starting package. Choose any bay trim for the exact installation rather than assuming an accessory is necessary for every setup.

What to weigh before buying

Plan beyond the face dimensions

Glass handling, electrical configuration and the room needed behind and around the appliance deserve attention before framing. The 120- and 240-volt arrangements have different heating output; the installer should select the appropriate configuration for the project.

Connected features add choices

App scenes and scheduling can be convenient, but they are not a substitute for checking the core appearance from your seating position. Make sure you like the logs and flame depth before paying for extra control options, and retain access for future electronic or lighting service.

Value Consideration

Quest is worth comparing with Revillusion when traditional proportions matter but you want more visual adjustment and a more elaborate log presentation. Its five-year limited warranty is a useful part of the comparison, subject to its terms. We would spend the premium on the effect and configuration you prefer, rather than assume the newer range must suit every room better.
