Dimplex · Nova
A plug-in firebox with a log ember bed, three flame speeds, adjustable brightness and supplemental warmth—controlled from the hidden touch panel or infrared remote.
In Stock

Nova 26 creates a fireplace focal point with a traditional log presentation and electric flame. Choose the ember-bed style as part of the model selection, then adjust the flame speed and brightness to suit the room.
This XHD26L is the L log configuration. Its appearance settings include natural, red and orange highlights; that distinction matters when comparing photographs and selecting the ember bed.
The supplied cord, infrared remote and hidden front controls keep everyday operation straightforward. Enjoy the flame without heat, or bring in supplemental warmth when the evening turns cooler.
Three flame speeds and three brightness levels let the display feel quieter or more animated. The log model’s documented themes are natural, red and orange highlights.
Choose the model and ember bed before ordering: the two presentations share the Nova family name but do not share every color setting or optional-media relationship.

Plan a minimum 24⅜ × 18½ × 8-inch opening for XHD26L, with the air space and electrical access required by the guide.

Preserve at least ½ inch of air space at the rear and airflow beneath the firebox. Do not place it directly on carpet or into a damp existing fireplace.
The appliance plugs into a suitable 120-volt receptacle on the specified 15-amp circuit. Keep the cord route clear and follow the guide’s connection instructions.

Set supplemental heat from 62°F to 84°F, select continuous heat, or switch the heater off while leaving the flame on. A two-minute fan cool-down follows heating.
The hidden touch panel and infrared remote handle everyday adjustments without Wi-Fi. A sleep timer runs from 30 minutes to eight hours; set it again for each new timed session.

XHD26L requires a minimum opening of 24⅜ inches wide, 18½ inches high and 8 inches deep. Those are the opening dimensions in the Nova guide, not the overall front dimensions or the nominal 26-inch model name. Review the rear air space and electrical access before closing the cabinet.
Choose the ember-bed version when ordering: G identifies the acrylic-crystal model and L identifies the log model. The guide gives different media and theme instructions for those configurations. It does not establish a general customer conversion between G and L fireboxes, so do not assume the two versions can be changed by buying loose media.
The L log configuration has natural, red and orange highlights. These are the choices documented for this ember-bed type; the other Nova configuration has a different theme set. Three flame speeds and three brightness levels provide separate ways to adjust the presentation.
The location must meet the installation guide’s support, opening, airflow and electrical requirements. Do not place the unit in a damp existing fireplace or directly on carpet. Preserve the specified air space at the rear and airflow beneath the firebox. Have the opening and supply reviewed before treating a nominal fireplace opening as a ready-made fit.
Nova uses a 120-volt plug-in connection and is rated at 1,465 watts. Its power cord is part of the appliance; a separate plug kit is not a missing standard item. The guide specifies a 15-amp circuit. Plan a suitable receptacle and cord route without extension cords or power strips.
The thermostat adjusts from 62°F to 84°F in two-degree steps, with a continuous On setting also available. Heat can be switched off while the flame remains in use. After heat is switched off, the fan continues for two minutes to release retained heat; that brief cool-down is part of normal operation.
Yes. Use the hidden touch controls on the front of the firebox or the supplied infrared remote. Point the remote toward the receiver; the guide describes operation from approximately 30 feet. The documented everyday controls do not require a phone, app or Wi-Fi connection.
The guide’s XHDDW-KIT and XHDDW-KIT33 relationships apply to specified G acrylic-crystal models. They are not documented as add-ons for the L log configuration. Keep the supplied log presentation unless Dimplex provides an exact-model alternative.
The sleep timer runs from 30 minutes to eight hours. It is useful when you want the display for a limited period without leaving it running all night. Standby retains the previously used settings apart from the timer; set a fresh timer for the next session.
Inspect and clean the firebox at least annually as described in the guide, with power disconnected and the appliance cool. Keep the air paths clear and clean the front glazing without abrasive products. Nova has two years of limited appliance coverage, with in-home service for eligible claims; separate mantels and trims have their own coverage terms.

EXTERNAL CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
OUR PRODUCT ASSESSMENT
Nova is a practical fit for someone who wants a compact electric firebox with a choice between a familiar log look and a cleaner crystal presentation. Owners often appreciate the cozy effect, convenient operation and straightforward installation. We would start with the opening dimensions and the media you prefer, then check the power route and access for service. The heater is useful for extra comfort nearby, but it should not be the reason to overlook fit or expect the entire home to feel warmer.
Owners commonly enjoy the realism, cozy appearance and the option to keep the flames on without heat. Several describe easy installation or a satisfying replacement for an older fireplace arrangement. Heat and fan experiences vary: some welcome the warmth and quietness, while another finds the output and blower disappointing. We would choose it for the visual fit first and supplementary comfort second.
Log and glass-media versions let the same general firebox format work in traditional and contemporary surroundings. The choice is worth making before purchase because the version code identifies the supplied presentation; it is not simply a color selection.
Flame-only operation means the fireplace can remain part of the room throughout the year. Owner comments about cozy appearance and approachable setup support its role as an everyday focal point, particularly when the existing cabinet or opening already fits the selected size.
The plug and cord route, front trim and access for removal all matter alongside the nominal width. Avoid designing a cabinet around the marketing size alone. If you want optional driftwood, check the specific glass-media size; the accessory is not approved universally across all Nova models.
Some owners enjoy the warmth and quiet operation, while others find the blower and heat output disappointing. Consider the room size and distance to seating. The included log or crystal display should be the main attraction rather than a promise of central-heating performance.
Nova offers a straightforward route to a finished firebox when you do not need water effects or a large multi-sided installation. Spend the time on correct sizing and the media choice first. Paying for a larger unit may improve visual proportion, but it does not automatically provide a proportionate increase in heating comfort.
The 4.5/5 Market Rating is based on 40 eligible customer ratings reviewed by Hearth Outpost. The star breakdown distribution shows how those customers rated the product. These are aggregated customer reviews across the market and not random sampling.
The family assessment pools sizes, fuel types, generations and colors. Equipment differs by configuration. The HOP score is a price-independent research assessment. Owner themes summarize the accessible sample.
