Dimplex XLFXDPLUG 120-Volt Plug Kit for Ignite Bold

XLFXDPLUG provides the optional power-cord arrangement named in the Ignite Bold installation guide. Its pre-installed cover plate forms part of the documented connection, making exact kit identification more useful than choosing a generic cord by appearance.

Select it for a 120-volt plug-in project. The same fireplace family also has hardwired arrangements, including the 240-volt option, so the chosen supply and connection should be settled with the installer before the surround is closed.

The guide covers all five current Ignite Bold sizes. Keep the fireplace SKU and cord-kit identity together, and retain access and the required electrical protection for the finished installation.

Good questions. Useful answers.

Let’s get your project right.

Do I need this kit with every Ignite Bold fireplace?

No. XLFXDPLUG is the optional power-cord accessory for the documented 120-volt plug-in arrangement. The fireplace may instead be hardwired using the installation method appropriate to the chosen voltage. Select the connection with the installer before ordering, rather than treating a cord as missing equipment for every project.

Can this cord kit be used with a 240-volt installation?

The manual states that the power-cord option is suitable only for 120-volt installations. The 240-volt arrangement is hardwired. This kit is not a voltage adapter and should not be selected to plug an unchanged 240-volt installation into a household outlet.

Which Ignite Bold sizes does the guide cover?

The applicable guide covers XLF5017-XD, XLF6017-XD, XLF7417-XD, XLF8817-XD and XLF10017-XD, and names XLFXDPLUG as their optional cord accessory. Confirm the complete appliance SKU; a nominal fireplace width alone does not identify the series or connection.

Will choosing plug-in power change the fireplace’s heat rating?

The Ignite Bold heater is rated at 1,500 watts at 120 volts and 2,500 watts at 240 volts. The cord kit supports the documented 120-volt arrangement; it does not increase heater output. If the project calls for the higher 240-volt rating, discuss the hardwired option with the installer before the surround is finished.

Can I use an extension cord to reach the outlet?

The Bold installation guide says the heater is not intended for use with an extension cord and directs the power cord into an appropriate wall receptacle. Plan the receptacle and cable route as part of the installation instead of relying on an extension cord after the wall is complete.

Is XLFXDPLUG also the cord for Ignite Evolve or Ignite Ultra?

This product is specifically identified for Ignite Bold. Shared voltage or a similar series name does not establish that cord kits are interchangeable. Ignite Evolve and Ignite Ultra have their own supplied-equipment and connection instructions. Match the complete appliance model to its named kit before ordering.

When should the cord option be chosen during the project?

The manual places cord-kit installation in the firebox-preparation and electrical-installation stages. Choose the supply, receptacle and connection before the fireplace is fully enclosed, and plan the rear top-right electrical entry. Have the installer review access and the completed surround before finishing materials are fitted.

Does the kit make every outlet location suitable?

No. The appliance still needs the appropriate voltage, grounding, circuit protection and wiring required by its installation guide and local requirements. A dedicated, properly protected 15-amp circuit is recommended in the Bold guide. The cord kit provides the documented connection option; it does not replace the electrical planning for the installation.

Should I buy both the cord kit and linking kit together?

They serve different purposes. XLFXDPLUG is the 120-volt cord accessory; XLFXDLINK relates to multi-unit fireplace installations and has separate instructions. A single-appliance plug-in project does not automatically require a linking kit. Plan the complete appliance arrangement and connections before choosing either accessory.

Which details should I keep for installation support?

Keep the accessory model XLFXDPLUG, the complete Ignite Bold fireplace SKU and the purchase record together. The kit’s ordering number and UPC are shown in its specifications. Use the Bold manual’s named cord-kit section for the connection instructions, and keep accessory coverage distinct from the fireplace’s warranty period.

CONFIDENCE BEYOND THE FIRST FIRE

The right fit. The right support.

Keep XLFXDPLUG and your purchase record with the appliance documents. The Ignite Bold warranty separates accessory packages from appliance coverage, so the fireplace’s coverage period should not be applied to this cord kit.

Look for your shipping confirmation email for tracking information when your order ships. Items may arrive in separate shipments. Carrier delivery dates are estimates; contact us if you need help checking your order’s status.

Curbside delivery

Large or heavy products may arrive by freight. Standard freight delivery is curbside: plan for help moving the shipment from the curb to its final location. Carry-in service, assembly, installation and packaging removal are not part of standard curbside delivery.

Call or email us with your order number to request a cancellation.

Refunds

Approved refunds are issued immediately upon inspection of the returned item, to the original method of payment used for your order. Once we issue your refund, it usually takes 7–10 days for the credit to appear in your account. The exact timing depends on your credit card issuer, bank or payment provider and their processing policies.

This timeframe begins when the refund is issued, rather than when a return is requested or shipped. For change-of-mind returns, return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund. Customers do not pay return shipping for damaged items. There is no restocking fee.

If your refund has not appeared after 10 days, check your account or card statement and contact your bank or payment provider. If you still need help, contact us with your order number so we can help check the status.
