Keep the setup focused on everyday grilling with the matte-black Baron 420 Pro Shadow. Four Dual-Tube burners provide 40,000 BTU across a 630-square-inch total cooking area.
Stainless steel cooking grids, a warming rack, and the Flav-R-Wave heat-distribution system form the cooking arrangement. Electronic ignition gets the burners started, illuminated knobs keep the settings visible, and drop-down side shelves let you adjust the space beside the grill.

OUR PRODUCT ASSESSMENT
The Baron is a good place to start when you want a capable everyday grill with room to grow your cooking. Its cast-aluminum cookbox and Dual-Tube burners form a substantial foundation, while the choice of conventional side burners, infrared searing and rotisserie equipment lets you spend on features you will use. We would choose the exact configuration before choosing the finish. Stainless and cast-iron grids need different care, and older owners’ corrosion and ignition experiences make routine cleaning and access to replacement parts part of the buying decision.
Owners appreciate quick warm-up, controllable heat and cooking for a family through different seasons. Rotisserie-equipped versions earn particular praise from people who use them for more than burgers. Longer-term experiences vary: some grills remain satisfying after years of use, while others have needed burners, cooking grids or ignition work. Assembly also deserves time and a careful parts check. We would treat the Baron as a grill to maintain, with the cooking hardware and included equipment checked against the exact model you are buying.
The cast-aluminum cookbox, independently controlled burners and Flav-R-Wave heat system give you several ways to arrange a meal. Use the main cooking area for direct grilling, or leave a burner off to create a gentler zone. The larger models add space without changing that familiar cooking approach.
A rear burner and rotisserie can be useful for roast chicken; an infrared side burner is aimed at a concentrated sear. Those are different benefits. The 420, 440, 490 and 590 packages do not all include the same equipment, so compare the contents before paying for the next model up.
The family includes carts, built-in heads and complete island arrangements. That gives you a way to keep the same general cooking platform while changing how it fits the patio. A freestanding cart offers flexibility; a built-in or island needs its layout and connections settled first.
Some Baron models have cast-iron grids and others have stainless grids. Cast iron benefits from the seasoning and moisture protection described in its care instructions. Keep grease and debris under control with either material, and check the exact replacement grid number rather than assuming all Baron sizes interchange.
Give assembly enough time to check fittings, ignition and clearances before the first cook. Keep the model and serial number with your paperwork. If the grill is going into an island, leave useful service access instead of making routine burner or ignition work a construction project.
Baron makes the most sense when the core cooking hardware matters more than a large control screen or an elaborate island finish. Price the exact cooking package, cover and installation together. An island can be convenient, but its added cabinetry and work surface should solve a real patio need; they do not automatically improve the food.
