Choose a fuel that fits both your cooking routine and the supply available at home. Then compare the individual models that meet those needs.
Propane and natural gas
Gas grills suit a routine built around convenient ignition and adjustable burners. Propane uses a tank; natural gas requires a suitable supply connection. Start with the fuel you intend to use, then select the matching configuration. Do not assume that a grill can be converted between fuels.
Compare cooking area and burner layout alongside the features you expect to use. A higher burner count alone does not tell you how a grill will fit your meals, and total burner output can describe a different set of burners from main cooking output.

Charcoal adds fuel preparation and airflow management to the process. Think about how often you want that hands-on experience, how you will handle ash after cooking and whether the grate layout gives you room to arrange different heat zones.

An electric grill can suit a setting where you prefer an electrical connection over gas or charcoal. Confirm the voltage, circuit and outlet requirements for the exact model before choosing a location.
Electric does not automatically mean approved for a balcony, enclosed area or shared building. Check the manual and the rules for your property. The same attention to usable cooking area and placement still matters.

The shortlist matches those choices to the same configuration, so a family with a propane version and a separate natural-gas version is not treated as one interchangeable grill.
